Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya (CGKV) was established on 11th April, 2012 with promulgation of the Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya Act, 2011.

Objectives And Mandate

  • To make provision for imparting education towards development of quality human resource in different branches of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
  • To further up the advancement of learning and conducting of research in veterinary and animal sciences
  • To undertake extension education in Veterinary and Animal Sciences
  • To promote partnership and linkages with National and International educational institutions
  • To liaise and establish vital linkages with the departments and organize working in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in the state by rolex replica whatever name called governed by the Government of Chhattisgarh or the Union Government
  • To liaise with National and International research institutions specialized in the field of veterinary and animal sciences with a view to keep abreast of the latest technology
  • To organize and impart continued education, refresher training courses and summer institutes, hold technical symposium and workshops to bring about professional development and skill improvement of the technical personnel in the field.
  • To make provision for the study of basic sciences with a view to support other professional studies and thereby integrating such studies in the Vishwavidyalaya curriculum
  • To confer such degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions as the Vishwavidyalaya may decide fro time to time.
  • To pursue such other objectives as the Vishwavidyalaya may determine from time to time.

Vision

Enhanced contribution of livestock sector to the sustainable food security, poverty reduction and economic growth in Chhattisgarh State is the Vision of the Vishwavidyalaya.

Mission

The mission of the Vishwavidyalaya is to customize an integrated approach for all round development of livestock, poultry and fisheries through imparting quality education, intense research and development for innovative technology generation and extension of technologies to the end users for sustainable productivity to augment and garner a dynamic livestock economy for the state.

  • College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anjora, Durg
  • College of Dairy Science and Food Technology, Raipur

Under Graduate Programme


Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

Admission to undergraduate programme leading to Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc.& A.H.) degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (attaining 50% marks in these subjects overall) stream students. 

Bachelor of Technology (Dairy Science and Food Technology) [ B.Tech.(D T)]

Admission to undergraduate programme leading to Bachelor of Technology (Dairy Science and Food Technology) [B.Tech.(DT)] degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination(Pre Engineering Test) conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English stream students attaining 50% marks. Over and above the seat quota of the state(36 seats), 15% seats (05 seats) are filled through “All India Entrance Examination for Admission” conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B. F. Sc.)

Admission to undergraduate programme leading to Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F. Sc.) degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (attaining 50% marks in these subjects overall ) stream students. Over and above the seat quota of the state (30 seats), 15% seats(05) are filled through “All India Entrance Examination for Admission” conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Two (02) seats are reserved for employees of Department of Fisheries (Govt. of Chhattisgarh), which are also filled through the above mentioned criteria.

Post Graduate and Doctoral programme

Admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes leading to Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) (15 subjects) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) (12 subjects) degrees in Veterinary Faculty and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) (04 subjects) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) (01 subject) degrees in Dairy Science and Food Technology faculty are done through merit lists of “Common Entrance” Test conducted by this Vishwavidyalaya.

Objectives

  • To further the advancement of learning and conducting of research in veterinary, animal, dairy and fishery sciences.
  • To liaise and establish vital linkages with the departments and organize working in the field of veterinary, animal, dairy and fishery sciences in the state.
  • To liaise with national and international research institutions specialized in the field of veterinary, animal, dairy and fishery sciences with a view to keep abreast of the latest technology.
  • To help Directorate of Extension Services of the Vishwavidyalaya for translation of technology to the end users.

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya University Library is envisaged for the collection, organization and dissemination of information on agriculture. CGKV consists of the University Central Library, libraries in all constituent Colleges and Research Stations which spread all over Chhattisgarh .
